Spandex & Black Boots

My first book, Spandex & Black Boots, Essays from an Abundant Life, was published in 2009 by TheTroy Bookmakers. This exciting event was a great reason to have my own web page to share parts of the book, as well as my photography and paintings.

In June of 2009, I was chosen to be part of the Memoir Project at the Art Center of the Capital Region in Troy. Several of the other writers with whom I shared the stage that evening had books to sell during intermission and a woman in the audience approached me, asking where was mine? Good question, and one that prompted me to finally make my own chap book after ten years of writing, if you don’t count journaling, which has been part of my daily life for over thirty years. I’ve been published in magazines and several anthologies, but never in a collection of my own writings all together between one cover.

I’ve included one of the essays from Spandex & Black Boots, and hope that you will enjoy it so much that you’ll want to read the other thirteen stories.
